Saving

Lately I've really been trying to think of ways to help out our budget. I've been looking up money saving tips and have come across some very interesting things. It amazes me how some people are interested in finding any way to save a few pennies however in turn they turn those few pennies into a few bucks a month then $50 a year which makes for hundreds/thousands in a life time. Sometimes I think "is it really worth it for me to save only $50 bucks a year?" I know that if I accidentally lost that much money I would probably be freaking out... so I guess my answer would be yes, it would be worth it.
Some people unplug everything and only plug it in when they use it because it still uses energy by simply being plugged in even if its off. I have found some practical ways to save some extra cash and plan to share those in the future.
I'm really excited to see what I can learn!

So much, So fast!

Time has been flying by and I cannot believe we're half way through January already!

This past week was quite unusual. Monday we had a TON of snow... well actually I should refrase that because we didn't get that much snow but rather that we don't have enough snow plows. I was finishing up work when the snow started to fall and had to travel an hour back home. By the time I reached the house traffice was moving slower than ever! The snow kept falling and kept Dane and I from working Tuesday since our work involves traveling. It was nice to have an unexpected day off and plus Maci spent the night since she didn't have to teach the following day. It was a lot of fun catching up again.

By Wednesday morning the snow had drifted infront of our door trapping us inside! We had to wait until the maintence man came with the now blower.

I have always enjoyed snow days... Not sure how many people don't like them.

before/after

Before and after photos always crack me up. the before picture is dull and the people are always sad or have a "whatever" expression on their face.

so... I decided to make a before and after photo of myself for my new hair.

AFTER:

People all of the sudden get this "glow" on their face for the after picture. Maybe the new look is empowering.

Furry Friends

My sister and brother-in-law recently adopted two kittens, Dexter and Alice. Jordan's allergies have been getting worse and worse therefore they had to get rid of the kitties and who better to give them to than US.

I like cats, always have. I remember when I was about 5, my dad picked me up from daycare holding a big brown box that he had stuff some old ratty towels in to keep two little kitties warm. I named one Abby (how original) and the other Skuttles (off the Little Mermaid).

So it wasn't too hard to say yes to adopting these cute furry friends. However, kitties are very hard to take care of! They are into everything, I mean EVERYTHING!
They like to jump on the counter, bite at your feet, put claw marks in your couch, and they always think they're hungry.

Dexter is the worst for thinking he's hungry. His meow is almost piercing! Alice is "soft spoken" and is a tag-a-long to her brother. They play together well, biting and kicking each other. Then you'll find them sleeping silently together... so cute!

I like my new friends, even though they're a handfull!

Crazyness

It's been quite a while since I last posted. Work has been taking over my life! Well that's been happening for quite a while now. I suppose I should work my tooshie off now while Im young and have no babies but it gets very tiring.

Thanksgiving was great! Dane and I went to his family's on Thanksgiving day then on Saturday went to my family's. It was a lot of driving but well wroth it. The time always goes by so quickly when you're trying to cram so many things in a short period of time.

I was able to go to my home church this past Sunday. I really miss having compelling sermons. The church that Dane and I were attending closed so now we're on the hunt for a new one.

Still no news on Dane's knee. He goes to the Dr. Thursday to check the fracture and possibly find out if surgery is needed.

A few weeks ago I decided to make homemade oatmeal cookies. They were sooooo delicious. When I started making them i did not realize how many the recipe would make. Well... I ended up making over 3 dozen. Needless to say we still have cookies in our freezer!

Final Results...

Dane's recent knee injury has sure thrown us through a loop! It takes twice as long to get anywhere, it's very hard for him to do things, he whines... I would have thought I had a new born in the house (just kidding, it really hasn't been that bad... he's a trooper). He went to the Dr. on Monday but they sent him back because they said they didn't take that specific insurance however, come to find out they do. So he went to the Dr. Wednesday and he kind of poked around a bit then told him he would need a MRI. The MRI was today at 3 pm but now we have to wait to see another Dr. to read the results, which is at 8 pm. How odd!?!... a Dr. reading the results at 8:00 at night. Guess we'll see.

Surprise!

My sister is a senior in high school this year so she is doing the college searching thing. Thursday her and my mom made a trip down to my house and stayed the night. It was really nice to be able to spend some time with them, even if it was only for a few hours before we couldn't stay awake anymore (1:30 am). Then they continued their trip down to Joplin. I hope she has a good visit!

can you tell which knee?
On another note... Dane came home early from soccer. I was excited that I was going to be able to see him earlier than I though however not excited for the reason. While playing in the game on Friday, Dane busted his knee! We are not sure what is wrong with it yet, he will be going to the doctor Monday. He is wearing an immobilizer and has to hobble around the house. He was glad that we have the handicap apartment now!

Hopefully no surgery!
